I loved reading this piece! Greatly miss camping out as the last time for me was quite a few years ago. 😊

Consider this your sign to plan a trip!

We use air mattresses too but I've considered a sleeping pad (one of the thick ones. Tried a thermarest lite and it sucked). Good to hear a review!

Also enjoy the backpacking meals and their ease. We also recently tried MREs from the army surplus store and weren't too bad. Same price but 4x as many calories.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one who hates Thermarest 😂.

Ooh, thanks for the pro tip on MREs. My kids have voracious appetites, so that sounds like perfection.

Yup, a pillow is wonderful ... Either actual camping type, if weight is of no concern, or, my down coat or vest stuffed in my sleeping bag bag. Over the years have used various sleeping pads, tree bows, ... the worst was in an old army cot. The best was on a Mountain Goat hunt where we camped on a peninsula of sorts at a high mountain lake, and I spread my sleeping bag over a patch of wortleberry bushes. Heavenly.

Haha love it! Bushes offering the foam mattress experience.

I love a hammock in the wild for stargazing!😍

Yes! Hammocks are the best! How could I forget to add that to the list?!

Sometimes I like a teepee, no a wigwam, no both. Guess I’m two tents.

Appreciate you sharing you two tents with us, Mark 😂

😆 I’ll give my 2 cents worth that I’m too tense 😆

Guess you should’ve taken my advice and brought a better pillow on your camping trip. Could’ve avoided being so tense, Mark!
